About

This course explores the diagnostic approach to managing urinary tract infections in residential aged care facility residents to reduce antibiotic resistance consistent with the principles outlined in Therapeutic Guidelines: Antibiotic (Version 15).

You'll learn when it's appropriate to test, treat and review patients with suspected urinary tract infections. You'll meet Mrs Jane Anderson, a 79-year-old woman recently admitted to an aged care facility who appears confused but with no urinary symptoms. We'll take you through likely clinical scenario's to determine the most appropriate management options.

This course aims to improve your knowledge, skills and confidence in managing UTIs and is suitable for nurses and health professionals working in aged care.
