About

The National Prescribing Curriculum (NPC) is a series of interactive case-based modules that encourage confident and rational prescribing. The modules follow a stepwise approach as outlined in the WHO Guide to Good Prescribing.

In this course you will provide care for Richard, a patient attending your general practice for a routine follow-up appointment for management of his type 2 diabetes.

Learning objectives

On completion of this module, you should be able to:

  • establish appropriate treatment goals for a patient with type 2 diabetes
  • evaluate and prescribe a third-line medicine for management of type 2 diabetes
  • recommend appropriate combinations of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options
