Consultant clinical and practice pharmacist Debbie Rigby has been reappointed to the NPS MedicineWise board as a non-executive director
Consultant clinical and practice pharmacist Debbie Rigby has been reappointed to the NPS MedicineWise board as a non-executive director.
Ms Rigby is an internationally recognised certified geriatric pharmacist. Her award-winning work earned her a Pharmacy Specialisation Grant from the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia in 1999, the PSA Australian Pharmacist of the Year in 2001, the PSA Qld Bowl of Hygeia in 2002, the inaugural AACP Consultant Pharmacist Award in 2008, and the SHPA Clinical Pharmacy award in 2016.
In addition, Ms Rigby is a member of DVA Veteran’s MATES Practitioner Reference Group, a Clinical Reference Lead to the Australian Digital Health Agency, adjunct senior lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, University of Queensland and Visiting Fellow, Queensland University of Technology.
NPS MedicineWise Chair Peter Turner welcomed Ms Rigby’s reappointment, noting that her broad perspective as a respected and influential leader in changing times for the pharmacy sector would continue to add high value to the board.
“Debbie has always demonstrated a high capacity of commitment to the NPS MedicineWise board and our mission to enable the best decisions about medicines and health technologies - it’s with great pleasure that we announce her reappointment today,” Mr. Turner said.
“Her extensive experience, insights and understanding of the challenges faced by pharmacists, combined with her influence and corporate knowledge, will benefit our continued support of the pharmacy sector.”
This being Ms Rigby’s fourth and final term, she was appointed on 25 August 2017 for a three-year term. Ms Rigby joined the Board on 25 August 2008.
