Media alert – upcoming diary date: Be Medicinewise Week
This Be Medicinewise Week (19-25 August 2019), NPS MedicineWise is encouraging Australians to get to know the language of medicines.
Be Medicinewise Week is an annual campaign that raises awareness about the quality use of medicines, helping Australians get the most out of their medicines, safely.
- This will be the 9th Be Medicinewise Week. The campaign targets both health professionals and consumers.
- We are encouraging discussions between consumers and health professionals to help people better understand their medicines and how to use them safely and effectively. For example pharmacists around Australia working in culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities are helping people of all language backgrounds to get to know the language of medicines.
- Understanding active ingredients and keeping a list of your medicines are important ways we are emphasising to keep track of your medicines.
