Top 5 Australian Prescriber podcasts revealed
With the release today of the 50th Australian Prescriber podcast, the most popular episodes from the last 2 years have been revealed – with antivenoms for Australian bites and stingers, and treatment for fibromyalgia topping the list.
Steve Morris, CEO of NPS MedicineWise which publishes Australian Prescriber, says the journal has been producing podcasts to accompany a selection of the journal’s articles since July 2017.
“These podcasts have proven to be popular with health professionals, with some individual episodes downloaded as much as 10,000 times,” says Mr Morris.
“Each episode is hosted by a doctor or pharmacist interviewing authors of recent Australian Prescriber articles.
“Podcasts are a mobile, on-demand way for health professionals to access evidence-based information to keep them up-to-date,” he said.
The five most popular podcasts based on the number of downloads in the month after release are:
- Australian biters and stingers: the latest on antivenoms
- Treatment of fibromyalgia
- An update on the treatment of rosacea
- Review of new eTG diabetes guidelines
- Antibiotic prophylaxis for dental procedures
The 50th podcast episode released today discusses real-time prescription monitoring.
